The Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Honourable Jack Mwiimbu officially launched the Laboratory. One of the key purposes for the establishment of the Laboratory is to support the investigation and prosecution of Sexual and gender based violence cases. It is envisioned that the usage of DNA will enhance the timeliness of prosecution of cases and provide corroborative evidence which will enhance the survivor&#8217;s access to justice and hold perpetrators accountable.
