The afternoon session of the 2nd Annual Prosecutors Conference has been nothing short of electrifying! Delegates were treated to thought-provoking presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key highlights of the afternoon presentations include, \u201cThe Marriage Amendment Act No.13 of 2023: Implications on the Offence of Child Marriage and Defilement in Zambia presented by various prominent speakers including His Royal Highness Chief Chamuka of the Chamuka Royal Establishment and \u201cPerspectives from the Appellate Courts on Case Management and Presentation\u201d by Honourable Justice Chalwe Mchenga-Deputy Judge President Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prosecutors\u2019 Conference has come to a close, leaving attendees inspired and equipped with new knowledge and connections to enhance their prosecutorial work. The event brought together local and international Prosecutors from Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Tanzania and Namibia that will definitely not be leaving the conference the same. In the same vain, the Prosecutors were treated with excellent presentations from various high level sources on best practices in various denominations of the criminal law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key takeaways from the conference include the importance of prosecutorial independence, the need for collaborative efforts in tackling cybercrime, and the crucial role of prosecutors in ensuring justice for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The conference also highlighted the significance of mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and the impact of technological advancements on the criminal justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees were treated to thought-provoking presentations. The conference provided a valuable opportunity for prosecutors to network with colleagues from various countries, exchange ideas, and learn from each other’s experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Honourable Mr. Justice Chalwe F.R. Mchenga, SC, who brought his wealth of experience and expertise to the event.
