When Honourable Minister of Justice, Princess Kasune, visited the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) on 2nd<\/sup> July 2025, it was far more than a ceremonial appearance at the inauguration of the newly appointed Board. It marked the fulfilment of a quiet, personal commitment made at the very outset of her tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appointed on 28th<\/sup> June 2024, the Minister was soon approached by the learned Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Gilbert A. Phiri, SC, with a singular and pressing appeal: to prioritise the appointment of a governing Board for the Authority. Made  in measured tones, the request struck a chord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI promised him,\u201d she recalled, \u201cI said I will work on it.\u201d Reflecting on the moment, she added, \u201cI told myself, if I was to do just one thing for the NPA, it would be this. And here we are – just one year into my office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her first official visit to the NPA, therefore, was not only historic – it was intentional. The inauguration of the Board closed a critical governance gap and affirmed a leadership style rooted in delivery, not declarations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A year on, her resolve has borne fruit. A request heard. A commitment honoured. And in her own words, a promise kept. Honourable Princess Kasune has proven, not with rhetoric but with action, that she is a woman who delivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
