the official launch of the Guidelines for the Prosecution of Economic and Financial Crimes, Ms. Mwangala Iris Mwala, Principal State Advocate in the Taxation and Financial Crimes Department of the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), expressed deep appreciation to the various stakeholders whose contributions made the new guidelines a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Mwala extended special thanks to the EnACT Zambia Programme, under the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), for their instrumental support in the development of the guidelines. \u201cWithout your support, these guidelines would not have been possible,\u201d Ms. Mwala stated, recognising the crucial role that GIZ played in shaping a framework that will greatly enhance Zambia\u2019s capacity to effectively prosecute economic and financial crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She emphasised that the guidelines will serve as a critical resource for prosecutors, enabling them to handle complex financial crime cases with increased confidence and expertise. \u201cThese guidelines provide us with the tools we need to navigate the intricate world of financial crimes, ensuring that we can tackle even the most sophisticated cases head-on,\u201d Ms. Mwala noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Mwala also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of her colleagues within the NPA and the Anti-Corruption Commission, who worked tirelessly to bring the guidelines to fruition. \u201cYour hard work, expertise, and commitment to this project have been invaluable,\u201d she said. \u201cThese guidelines are a testament to your dedication and will significantly enhance our ability to combat financial crime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vote of thanks concluded with Ms. Mwala reaffirming the NPA\u2019s commitment to utilising the new guidelines as a cornerstone in the fight against corruption and financial impropriety, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration among key stakeholders to strengthen
