The Learned Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Gilbert A. Phiri, SC, is representing Zambia at the 30th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Singapore, taking place from 7 to 10 September 2025. He is joined by Mrs. Angelica Kennedy Mwanza, Principal State Advocate in the General and Appeals Department of the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) and Mr. Colin Kabalata, State Advocate.
Hosted by the Attorney‑General’s Chambers of Singapore and held at the luxurious Shangri‑La Hotel, this marks the second time the city‑state has welcomed IAP members following back in 2008
events.
The conference theme is, “The Versatile Prosecutor and the Administration of Criminal Justice” reflects the urgent need for prosecutorial agility in a rapidly changing legal environment.
Discussions will span digital forensics, emerging technology in legal practice, interdisciplinary crime-fighting, mental resilience, and international cooperation on asset tracing.
