LUSAKA DISTRICT COHORT BRINGS THE FIRE TO NPA INTEGRITY ENGAGEMENT

Lusaka | October 1, 2026 – Yesterday’s cohort set the bar high. Today’s cohort came determined to raise it.
If the first NPA Integrity Committee Lusaka Engagement Series session was energetic, today’s engagement with the Lusaka District cohort brought an entirely different level of interaction to the room.
From the opening session, participants asked questions, shared perspectives and engaged openly, bringing an unmistakable energy to the conversation.
The day opened with an introduction to the NPA National Integrity Committee, led by Committee Chairperson Ms. Cassandra Soko. The session provided participants with a broader understanding of the Committee’s role in strengthening integrity across the Authority, promoting ethical conduct, accountability and a workplace culture in which integrity is everyone’s responsibility.
The conversation then moved to the Gift Policy, led by Director of Human Resources Mrs. Beene Shadunka-Siyumbwa, followed by the Whistle-Blower Policy, facilitated by Assistant Director of Human Resources Mr. Abishai Mwansa.
And, keeping with the now-established tradition, participants were put to the test with a quiz after each policy session.
The morning may have been about learning, but this group clearly came ready to engage.

AND THEN CAME THE AFTERNOON…

The afternoon session, led by Ms. Soko, turned the energy up another notch.
The session on the Code of Ethics was particularly electric, with participants actively engaging with the issues and bringing their perspectives into the discussion. The conversation then moved to the Conflict of Interest Policy, delivered by Mrs. Siyumbwa. The session highlighted the importance of recognising, disclosing and appropriately managing situations where personal interests could affect, or appear to affect, official responsibilities.
The chairperson then raised the conversation’s temperature to Culture Change, where participants explored the workplace behaviours, attitudes and practices that can help shape the NPA of the future.
The final segment focused on Digital Transformation. The Chairperson invited participants to share their fears and concerns about digitalisation, opening up a candid conversation about the uncertainties that can accompany new technology. The concerns raised by participants were met with practical, reassuring responses from Mr. Chingaipe, our Information Technology Technician from the NPA Information Technology Department (IT), a recipient of the Director of Public Prosecutions’ 2026 Labour Day Award for Innovation. Mr. Chingsipe’s hands-on expertise helped demystify some of the technology-related fears and showed how digital tools can support, rather than complicate, their work.

The presentation also included a practical demonstration by Mr. Chingaipe who took participants through the soon-to-be-launched Case Flow Management System, giving them a practical glimpse of how technology will support the management and movement of cases in their everyday work.

And, of course, the quizzes continue…

Yesterday’s cohort gave us some impressive scores.

Today’s group certainly brought the energy.

But will the volume of their participation match the excellence of the first cohort?
Only the final scores will tell.

Fingers crossed. 🤞🏆
