Bilateral Meeting Between the Director of Public Prosecutions of Zambia and the Senior Advocate General of Dubai Public Prosecutions
Singapore, 9th September 2025 — On the sidelines of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Annual Conference, the Director of Public Prosecutions for the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Gilbert A. Phiri, SC, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Mohammed Hassan Abdulrahim, Senior Advocate General of the Dubai Public Prosecution, United Arab Emirates.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Zambia and the United Arab Emirates to strengthening international cooperation in the fight against transnational crime. Both parties underscored the importance of enhancing existing frameworks for mutual legal assistance, with a focus on information sharing, extradition, and broader collaboration in complex criminal justice matters.
Mr. Phiri emphasized Zambia’s resolve to build strong partnerships with counterparts across jurisdictions, especially in addressing the growing threats of cross-border crime. In response, Mr. Abdulrahim reiterated Dubai’s commitment to deepening international collaboration in prosecution efforts and strengthening legal cooperation mechanisms.
Mr. Phiri was accompanied at the meeting by Principal State Advocate (Appeals), Ms. Angelica Kennedy Mwanza, and State Advocate, Mr. Colin Kabalata.
