NPA INTEGRITY ENGAGEMENT DRIVES CULTURE AND DIGITAL CHANGE

Lusaka | September 30, 2026 – The afternoon session of the National Prosecution Authority’s Integrity Committee engagement shifted the focus from policy to practice, with participants exploring conflict of interest, culture change and digital transformation.

Mrs. Beene Shadunka-Siyumbwa led the session on the Conflict of Interest Policy, highlighting the importance of recognising, disclosing and appropriately managing situations where personal interests could affect, or appear to affect, official responsibilities.

This was followed by an engaging culture change conversation led by Integrity Committee Chairperson Ms. Cassandra Soko.

The session was highly interactive, with participants openly sharing constructive views on workplace culture and the changes they would like to see within the NPA.

The conversation then turned to the future, with Ms. Soko leading a session on Digital Transformation.
Participants were invited to speak candidly about what excites them about technology as well as their fears and concerns about adapting to new digital systems. The open exchange generated valuable feedback on how officers can be supported through the NPA’s digital transition.

The discussion was brought to life through a practical demonstration by Mr. Patrick Chingaipe, a technician from the Information Technology Department and recipient of the DPP’s Award for Innovation.

Mr. Chingaipe gave participants an insight into the soon-to-be-launched Case Flow Management System, demonstrating how the system is expected to support the management and movement of cases.

The demonstration offered participants a practical glimpse of what digital transformation will mean in their everyday work.

Throughout the sessions, participants were given quizzes after each presentation, testing their understanding of the topics while adding a competitive element to the learning.

At the close of the day, the quiz winners were unveiled, bringing a lively end to a day of learning, reflection and open dialogue.

For the first cohort from Kafue, Siavonga and Chirundu, the message was clear that building the NPA of the future will require integrity in conduct, openness to change and a willingness to embrace technology.
